Job Overview:
Hydroscope is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our data analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing large IoT datasets, developing statistical models, and creating interactive dashboards to extract insights from real-time data.
This role requires expertise in Python, statistical analysis, data visualization, and database management. The candidate should have prior experience working with sensor-driven data, environmental datasets, or IoT-based monitoring systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Business Intelligence:
Analyse large IoT datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to water quality and environmental monitoring.
Develop interactive dashboards and visual reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across multiple sources.
IoT Data Processing & Reporting:
Utilize Python libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, Seaborn) for data processing, visualization, and statistical modelling.
Automate ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines for real-time sensor data collection and analysis.
Conduct hypothesis testing, anomaly detection, and regression analysis for predictive insights.
Collaborate with software engineers, hardware teams, and domain experts to refine data models.
Provide recommendations for product improvements or new product development based on data findings.
Database Management & Optimization:
Work with large-scale IoT data repositories and optimize SQL, NoSQL, and time-series databases.
Design efficient data models to support analytics and reporting workflows.
Identify and incorporate new data sources to enhance existing models.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for business and product teams.
Present findings through visual reports, presentations, and detailed documentation.
Work with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
Education: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in data analysis, business intelligence, or IoT-based analytics.
Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data processing and statistical analysis.
Database Management: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, etc.
Data Visualization: Expertise in Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, or Seaborn.
ETL & Data Engineering: Familiarity with data pipelines, APIs, and real-time IoT data processing.
Additional Requirements:
Experience working with sensor-based datasets, IoT platforms, or environmental monitoring systems.
Excellent communication skills to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in IoT analytics, water quality monitoring, or environmental data processing.
Familiarity with AI/ML-driven predictive maintenance for IoT sensors.
Knowledge of geospatial data analysis and GIS tools.
