Job Summary:

The Vacuum Forming Supervisor in the luggage industry will oversee the vacuum forming process, ensuring high-quality production of plastic components for luggage products. This position involves managing the daily operations of the vacuum forming department, ensuring optimal machine performance, maintaining production schedules, and leading a team of operators. The supervisor will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and improving processes to enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and Lead Team:
• Supervise a team of vacuum forming operators, providing direction, training, and support.
• Monitor individual and team performance, ensuring alignment with production goals and timelines.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to improve productivity and skills.
2. Vacuum Forming Process Oversight:
• Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of vacuum forming machines used to create plastic components for luggage.
• Ensure that all vacuum forming operations are executed per safety protocols, production specifications, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine malfunctions, product defects, and material handling.
3. Quality Control:
• Inspect finished products for defects, dimensional accuracy, and quality compliance.
• Implement corrective actions to address product quality issues and reduce waste.
• Work closely with the quality control department to ensure all products meet customer and industry standards.
4. Production Scheduling and Workflow:
• Develop daily production schedules, assigning tasks to team members to ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Coordinate with other departments, including design, assembly, and logistics, to ensure smooth workflow and production alignment.
• Monitor production efficiency and suggest improvements to maximize throughput.
5. Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to all workplace safety guidelines, including proper handling of machines and materials.
• Conduct regular safety training sessions for the team and enforce safe working practices.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards related to manufacturing processes.
6. Process Improvement:
• Continuously evaluate the vacuum forming process to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement process improvements to reduce downtime, increase output, and enhance product quality.
• Work with engineering and other departments to integrate new technologies and methodologies.
7. Inventory and Materials Management:
• Oversee inventory control of materials used in the vacuum forming process, including plastic sheets, molds, and other consumables.
• Work with the purchasing team to ensure adequate material stock levels and timely replenishment.
8. Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain accurate production logs, reports, and records related to machine performance, downtime, and product quality.
• Provide regular updates to management on production status,team performance, and any issues that need attention.
